There are many more plants with good fall color, but this listing can be considered a cross-reference to the tree and shrub lists found on this site. If a plant doesn’t have noteworthy fall color, then you’ll not find it on this list.

I have listed more or less specific color names as I feel that merely saying some plant has good fall color doesn’t help one design a great garden. We need to know colors to make good design choices. For a more in-depth explanation of the color names I use for this list, please refer to The Guide.
