For the purpose of this list, I shall define shrubs as woody plants that are multi-branching low to the ground and are, in general, smaller than 15-20′ in height. Some shrubs are columnar in shape — much less wide than they are tall — in which case, they may be well over 20′ tall, but maybe only 3-4′ wide. See that specific list.

And evergreen means they will retain their leaves or needles for more than one full calendar year. Each leaf/needle won’t last for eternity. Each plant is genetically programed differently, still, evergreen plants will appear to be green or bluish or yellowish or whatever color their leaves are, year-round.
